NAGOYA: All four quarter-finals of the men’s cricket event at the Asian Games have been washed out due to rain.
The third quarter-final scheduled today in Nagoya was to be played between Nepal and Sri Lanka, while Bangladesh and Malaysia were to face each other in the fourth quarter-final.
However, both quarter-final matches could not even start due to rain. After the matches were cancelled, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh teams reached the semi-finals on the basis of better ranking, where they will face India and Pakistan.
Yesterday, the Pakistan vs Hong Kong and India vs Afghanistan matches also could not be held due to rain, after which Pakistan and India got access to the semi-finals on the basis of better ranking.
Both semi-finals of the Asian Games men’s cricket event will be played on October 1st in Nagoya itself. In the first semi-final, Pakistan and Bangladesh teams will face each other at 5:00 AM Pakistan time, while the second semi-final between India and Sri Lanka will be played at the same ground at 10:00 AM.
