ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has announced scheduled power outages in parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi and adjoining areas on Wednesday, July 29, to facilitate maintenance and development work on its power distribution network.
In a statement posted on its official X account, IESCO said the planned shutdowns are required for approved maintenance work on 11kV feeders and 132kV grid stations and transmission lines.
According to the utility, electricity supply will remain suspended in areas falling under the Islamabad, Rawalpindi Cantt and Rawalpindi City operation circles, while other adjoining localities may also experience temporary disruptions.
Under the Islamabad Operation Circle, power supply will remain suspended from 8:00am to 12:00pm from the Pir Sohawa feeder, affecting Kotla, Pir Sohawa, Kohala Bal and surrounding areas.
Meanwhile, electricity will remain unavailable from 5:00am to 11:00am in areas served by the Khanna Dak feeder, including Bilal Town, Khandak and Qutbal Town.
Power supply will also remain suspended during the same hours in areas connected to the Burma feeder, including Burma Chowk, Java Road–Chakdar Road, Saif Ismail Colony, Sarai Chowk and Shakards Colony, as well as the Ghori Garden feeder, affecting Ghori Garden.
Under the Rawalpindi Cantt Operation Circle, electricity supply will remain suspended from 7:00am to 10:00am from the Moorat feeder, affecting Moorat, Mehra, Kohla, Kolyanaar P, Murti Mor and surrounding localities.
Power outages during the same hours will also affect areas served by the Kohala feeder, including Kohala, Misriut Banda Nangal, Dhok Hashmat and Dhok Rika.
The Fatima Jinnah feeder will remain shut down from 7:00am to 10:00am, affecting Fatima Jinnah Women University.
Consumers connected to the Rehmatabad-I feeder will experience power suspension in Rehmatabad Blocks A, B, C, D, E and F, Jobar Colony and DK.
Similarly, the Rehmatabad-II feeder will affect Chaklala Scheme-I, Railway Schemes 1, 2, 3 and 4, Askari-8, Askari-9, Rehmatabad and DK Kashmir during the scheduled shutdown.
Power supply will also remain suspended from the Jail Park feeder, affecting Gulrez-I, DK Chaudhryan, Khan Avenue, Raja Aslam Colony and Khayaban-e-Tauheed.
Meanwhile, consumers served by the Kot Jabbi feeder will face outages in DK Chaudharyan Blocks A, B, C and D, as well as Paki Gali, between 7:00am and 10:00am.
Under the Attock Operation Circle, electricity supply will remain suspended from 6:00am to 10:00am from the Katchery and Attock Cantt feeders, affecting Mirza, M. Nagar, Sadar, DK and Peshawar localities.
Power outages are also scheduled from 7:00am to 9:00am from the Dhoke Fateh feeder, affecting Awanabad, DK, Fateh and Hakimabad, while the Millat Colony feeder will impact Tarnol, Millat Colony, Gulshan Colony and Ittifaq Colony.
From 8:00am to 10:00am, consumers connected to the Khan Abad feeder will experience power suspension in Basti, Asif Abad, Munirabad and the GT Road area, while the Bahtar More feeder will affect Bahtar More.
Meanwhile, electricity supply will remain suspended from 5:00am to 11:00am from the P. Small Industrial feeder, affecting Mixed Industry, the Kohistan Enclave feeder, impacting Kohistan Enclave, the Kashif Gull feeder, covering Ghazi Kohli Mali Pind Road and Sadaqat Colony.
IESCO advised consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in advance, adding that electricity supply will be restored immediately after the completion of the scheduled maintenance work.
