PESHAWAR: Pakistan slipped to ninth position in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) points table after it suffered an eight-wicket defeat to England in the third Test concluded at Edgbaston the other day.
As per the ICC new table point, the defeat dropped Pakistan’s winning percentage to 14.81. As Pakistan has now lost seven of its nine Tests played this year so far and secured only two wins coming against the West Indies. As per the table points, Australia are leading the WTC table after winning eight of their 10 Tests. They have 96 points and a winning percentage of 80.00.
Defending champions South Africa are in second place with 75.00, while New Zealand are third with 72.22. Bangladesh are fourth with 56.55, followed by India in fifth place with 51.52. England moved up to sixth place after recording their seventh win, three only won against Pakistan. Their winning percentage has increased to 38.54.
Sri Lanka are seventh with 33.33, while the West Indies are eighth with 20.83. Pakistan now face a tough task as after seven defeats in nine Tests, the team will need to improve its results to move up in future.
