SWAT: A 4.8 magnitude earthquake jolted Swat and adjoining areas on Tuesday, but the good news is that no loss of life or property damage has been reported.

According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the epicentre was in the Hindu Kush mountain range in Afghanistan at a depth of 85 to 176 kilometres. Residents felt strong tremors and came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran.

Authorities confirmed that no deaths, injuries, or significant damage to buildings and infrastructure were reported from any part of Swat. No aftershocks have been reported so far. Local officials have advised residents to remain alert and stay in safe locations as a precaution.
