SWAT: Strong tremors were felt in Mingora city and adjoining areas of Swat on Sunday, triggering panic among residents.
According to the seismic centre, the earthquake measured 4.9 on the Richter scale. The depth of the quake was recorded at 212 kilometers and the epicenter was in the Hindu Kush mountain range, the Islamabad Seismic Centre reported.
Witnesses said people rushed out of homes and shops as the ground shook. Many residents were seen reciting Kalma Tayyaba amid fear and panic.No reports of casualties or property damage have been received so far. Authorities said they are monitoring the situation.
