NEW DELHI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir became a talking point at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Sunday as Indian students protested and discussed the outcome of Bunyan-um-Marsoos and what they called the Modi government’s setback.
According to eyewitnesses, students participating in the protest cited Pakistan’s success in Bunyan-um-Marsoos and criticized the Modi administration’s policies. Several protesters were heard praising Field Marshal Asim Munir’s leadership, with slogans also raised in his support.
Students said the changing situation in the region should force Indian leadership to review its policies. Some demonstrators remarked that “even the adversary is acknowledging the military leadership’s resolve.
Political analysts say that in the aftermath of Bunyan-um-Marsoos, growing domestic discontent in India has turned Field Marshal Asim Munir into a major discussion point in public and student circles.
There has been no official response from the Indian government so far regarding the protest and the statements made.
