A 4.4-magnitude earthquake jolted parts of northern Pakistan, with tremors felt in Chilas, Gilgit and Mansehra, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The PMD said the earthquake was recorded at 11:54pm Pakistan Standard Time (PST). The quake originated at a depth of 15 kilometres, with its epicentre located in northwestern Kashmir, approximately 53 kilometres northwest of Chilas.

The earthquake’s coordinates were recorded at 35.61°N latitude and 73.56°E longitude.

No immediate reports of casualties or damage were received following the tremor. Authorities are monitoring the situation, while residents in the affected areas reported feeling the shaking.
