PESHAWAR: The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, will organize the final phase of five days Summer Learning and Grooming Festival 2026 scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday). It is expected that more than 2,000 students from the whole province will participate in the event being held in Abbottabad and Mansehra districts.
This decision was made at a high-level meeting chaired by Secretary Education Muhammad Khalid. The meeting emphasiszd on student security, best arrangements and holding a special IT boot camp. Prominent among those who attended the meeting were Additional Secretary (General), Commissioners of the concerned divisions, Deputy Commissioners, Chairmen of all Boards of Intermediate and Secondary Education of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Director of the Education Department, District Education Officers and other concerned authorities.
The meeting reviewed the festival arrangements, student transportation, accommodation, food, security, medical facilities, co-curricular activities and overall administrative matters in detail. On this occasion, a detailed report was also presented to the forum by the Communication Specialist of the Education Department regarding the branding, media projection, social media coverage and public awareness campaign of the festival, which was appreciated by the participants.
Addressing the meeting, Secretary Education Muhammad Khalid directed that the safety and security of the students should be given top priority. He also directed all the concerned institutions to ensure the successful conduct of the festival through mutual communication and effective coordination. The Education Secretary further directed that in the final phase, a special IT boot camp be organized to expose the students to modern technology, so that they can be aligned with digital skills, artificial intelligence (AI), emerging technologies and the requirements of the modern era.
About 2,000 students from across the province will participate in this phase of the festival, who will be provided with the opportunity to participate in academic activities as well as debates, art and craft, sketching, sports, leadership training, team building, tree planting, hiking, creative activities, IT boot camp and other co-curricular programs.
