The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment has introduced a new digital e-Protector registration system to facilitate Pakistanis travelling abroad for employment.
Under the new system, applicants can submit their applications, upload required documents and track the progress of their registration online using a mobile phone or computer from home.
The digital initiative is expected to reduce travel expenses, save time and minimize unnecessary visits to government offices, particularly for applicants from remote areas.
It will also make the registration process faster and more transparent. Officials said Protector registration is not merely a formal requirement but an important safeguard for legal and secure employment abroad.
During the process, applicants’ visas, employment contracts and employer records are verified. The system also enables Pakistani embassies and Community Welfare Attaches abroad to provide assistance to workers when required.
Applicants have been advised to use only their personal and valid mobile number and email address when submitting an application.
They should upload clear copies of their passport, CNIC, visa and employment contract and keep records of their tracking ID, fee receipt and approved certificate.
Authorities have also warned applicants not to share their original documents, passwords or OTPs with unauthorised agents.
The spokesperson further cautioned that working on a visit visa or travelling abroad for employment without Protector registration could expose individuals to serious legal, financial and security risks.
Citizens have therefore been advised to complete and verify all required legal procedures before departure.
