ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) announced a substantial downward revision in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) rates for the month of July.
According to the official notification issued by the OGRA, the price of LPG has been slashed by Rs 67.33 per kilogram, bringing the consumer rate down to Rs 241.43 per kg from the previous month’s price of Rs 308.76.
Consequent to this baseline reduction, the price of an 11.8-kilogram domestic gas cylinder has dropped sharply by Rs 794.50. The household commodity, which previously burdened consumers, will now retail at the newly fixed rate of Rs 2,848.91.
Market analysts note that the revised tariff structure is slated to remain in force throughout July. The relief package is expected to heavily benefit off-grid domestic consumers, particularly rural communities and mountainous regions where piped natural gas infrastructure is unavailable and dependence on cylinder gas remains absolute.
