By selling the most expensive LPG in the country’s history, the LPG mafia took out Rs 60 to 70 billion from the pockets of the public, who were crushed by inflation. The public kept buying LPG at Rs 309 per kilogram at a price of more than Rs 600.

According to reliable sources, taking advantage of the energy crisis due to Iran-US tensions, the LPG mafia sold LPG at its arbitrary price and is still selling it publicly in large numbers today.

According to the data of the Pakistan LPG Distributor Association, more than 6 million kilograms of LPG are sold in Pakistan every day. OGRA has fixed its price for the month of June at Rs 309 per kilogram, but LPG is not available anywhere at this price. Every plant, every company, and every shopkeeper has its own rate. The people have been forced to buy the most expensive LPG in the history of the country.

Talking to media shopkeeper Kashif said that if we get five and a half hundred rupees per kilogram of LPG from the plant, how can we sell it for Rs 309? We are getting the most expensive LPG from LPG marketing companies and plant owners, so how can we give it cheaper? No institution, including OGRA, has taken action against them. Whoever took action, they only took action against the shopkeepers and fined them thousands and millions of rupees.

The shopkeeper said that the plant owners are selling the most expensive LPG but are not giving receipts. They are not giving LPG on asking for receipts. What should we do? We cannot keep the children hungry. There is one or two employees at the shop.

It is not possible to fire them. The government has controlled the prices of petroleum products. Why has it not controlled LPG? The people also abuse us. Wherever we go, the people say that gas is not available. We are forced to buy expensive ones. If we talk about expensive LPG, the shopkeepers say, take it from wherever it is cheap.

The consumption of LPG in Pakistan is more than 6 million kilograms. If we multiply 6 million by 300 rupees, it is one billion eighty crore rupees per day. If we calculate it for a month, it becomes more than 54 billion eighty crore rupees, and this money is being taken out of the pockets of the people, and no one is happy.

In this regard, OGRA spokesperson, Senior Director Enforcement Sohail Ahmed Tariq, and Senior Director Sarmad Aslam were contacted several times, but no response was given by them.
