PESHAWAR: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued a warning that the computerized national identity cards (CNICs) of individuals failing to complete verification within the stipulated time will be blocked.

As per the NADRA officials of the regional headquarters, the people whose names are enlisted in the list of doubtful or suspect identity holders are asked to appear in front of the NADRA board in two weeks for verification of their credentials.

It has been stated that in case of non-compliance with the said directive in the given time period, there will be immediate blocking of their CNICs.

The NADRA is making a move against those people who are using fake and doubtful identities, issuing notices to more than 1,100 suspected CNIC holders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

From these, there are 874 suspects from Peshawar city, 192 from Charsadda district and 81 from Tank district. While two and one suspects from Torghar and Jhelum districts respectively have also been issued notices.
