ISLAMABAD: Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on the signing of the “Islamabad Peace Deal,” during a telephone conversation held on Thursday evening, according to an official statement.
During the call, the Crown Prince praised the Prime Minister and acknowledged the efforts that led to the successful conclusion of the agreement, describing it as an important development for regional stability.
He also commended the role of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, stating that his efforts contributed significantly to the outcome of the peace deal.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in turn, expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s continued support, noting that the Kingdom had played a key role alongside other Gulf partners in facilitating progress toward the agreement.
Both leaders reaffirmed the importance of continued dialogue and diplomacy to ensure smooth progress in the next phase of negotiations between Iran and the United States. They also stressed the need to remain vigilant against any attempts to disrupt the peace process.
The two sides expressed satisfaction over the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and agreed to continue close coordination in the coming days.
