ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has announced the schedule and registration policy for MDCAT 2026, which will be held for admissions to medical and dental colleges across the country.

According to the PMDC, MD CAT will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at 10 am, while online registration for candidates will start from June 22 and will continue till July 8. Registration with late fee can be done till July 13.

The PMDC said that the registration fee for MD CAT in Pakistan has been fixed at Rs 9,000, while the late registration fee will be Rs 13,000 and the registration fee for international test centers has been fixed at Rs 45,000.

PMDC clarified that all fees will be non-refundable and non-transferable. In Sindh, MDCAT will be conducted under IBA University Sukkur, in Punjab, University of Health Sciences Lahore, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khyber Medical University Peshawar and in Balochistan, Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences Quetta.

The examination in Islamabad, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Riyadh will be conducted under the management of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Medical University.

According to PMDC, Sindh candidates will be able to take the exam in centers established in Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sukkur and Larkana, while Punjab candidates will participate in the test in 14 different cities.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, examination centers will be set up in 8 cities including Peshawar, Mardan, Swat and Abbottabad, while Balochistan candidates will be able to take the exam in Quetta, and a test center will be set up in Riyadh for international candidates.

According to the announcement, once the examination center is selected, it cannot be changed later. MDCAT will consist of 180 multiple-choice questions and there will be no negative marking in the exam. Candidates will not have marks deducted for giving wrong answers.

In addition, candidates will have to complete online registration through the MDCAT portal, while incomplete applications will not be accepted. The MDCAT syllabus and other details will be available on the PMDC website.

PMDC has also clarified that the council reserves the right to change the examination schedule if necessary.
