PESHAWAR: The budget session of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly is starting tomorrow, Friday, June 19, for which the Assembly Secretariat has released the regular schedule of the annual budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 and the supplementary budget for the fiscal year 2025-26.
According to the Assembly Secretariat, the Finance Minister will present the annual budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 in the session to be held at 2 pm on Friday, June 19, while the Finance Bill and the supplementary budget for the fiscal year 2025-26 will also be placed before the House.
As per the schedule, there will be no session of the Assembly on June 20 and 21, after which a general discussion on the budget will be held from June 22 to 24. The session will not be held on June 25 and 26 due to the Ashura holidays.
In the second phase of the budget session, after the general debate on the budget is completed on June 27, there will be a vote on the annual budget demands. On June 28, along with the approval of the demands and the finance bill, the authentic schedule of authorized expenditure will be ratified.
A general debate on the supplementary budget for the financial year 2025-26 is scheduled for June 29, while the budget stages will be completed on June 30 with the voting on the supplementary budget demands and the ratification of its authentic schedule of authorized expenditure.
