The federal and Punjab governments have issued an official notification declaring three public holidays for Eidul-Azha.
After the approval of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, the Cabinet Division and the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) of the Punjab government have issued a notification of the holiday for these 3 days only.
As per the decision of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Eid-ul-Adha is being celebrated in Pakistan on May 27 (Wednesday).
According to the notification, these 3 Eid holidays will be applicable to all provincial and federal offices, banks and educational institutions, while emergency services (such as hospitals and rescue) will continue to function as usual.
Therefore, the news of 4 holidays is not correct, the official Eid holidays will be for only 3 days (May 26, 27 and 28).
