In the past, Pakistan’s fast bowlers were famous all over the world for their swing, reverse swing, speed, and aggressive style, and Batterers from all over the world were afraid to play in front of dangerous fast bowlers like Sarfraz Nawaz, Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Asif, Umar Gul, and Mohammad Amir.

The pair of Wasim and Waqar set several world records, while Shoaib Akhtar gained world fame with his lightning-fast bowling.  Fast bowling, considered the hallmark of Pakistani cricket, seems to be in a serious decline today. Umar Gul was considered the king of yorkers in the death overs in limited-overs cricket.

In contrast, today’s bowlers seem to lag far behind the fast attacks of Australia, India, South Africa, and England. Despite the presence of talented bowlers like Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Hasan Ali, and Haris Rauf, Pakistan is not able to achieve the desired results, which is causing serious concern among fans and former cricketers.

According to recent data, the average of the Pakistani pace attack in Test cricket since 2022 has been 37.32, which is the worst of almost all the big teams, including South Africa, Australia, India, England, and New Zealand.

Even the performance of the fast bowlers of Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, and Afghanistan is much better than that of Pakistan’s fast bowling attack. According to recent data, the average of Pakistani pace attack in Test cricket since 2022 has been 37.32, which is even lower than that of Afghanistan

South Africa’s average was 23.78 while Australia’s was 24.34, which shows that Pakistan’s fast bowlers have failed to take wickets significantly.
