PESHAWAR: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert for heavy rain and hailstorms in various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, predicting significant shifts in the weather over the next 24 hours. The alert warns of thunderstorms accompanied by rain and hail, which could affect the region’s daily activities.
The NDMA has specifically mentioned the following districts in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which will experience adverse weather conditions because of the upcoming storm Dera Ismail Khan, Malam Jabba, Bannu, and Abbottabad. The regions of Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir have also reached a state of high alert because of upcoming severe weather conditions.
The agency’s forecast shows that thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rainfall will occur in Muzaffarabad Neelum Valley Hunza Skardu and various locations throughout Gilgit-Baltistan. The severe weather patterns will cause disruptions, so authorities recommend that residents implement essential safety measures.
Officials have recommended that citizens should exercise caution and stay indoors while driving becomes unsafe during stormy weather. The NDMA stated that people should monitor weather updates while following local safety instructions to protect themselves from dangerous situations.
The upcoming weather change will create a temperature drop, which will affect both agricultural production and travel activities and local infrastructure systems. The authorities will keep monitoring the situation until they determine that the situation no longer needs monitoring.
