LOWER DIR: A Canadian lady has tied the knot with a Pakistani man hailing from Lower Dir as their relationship blossomed into a cross-border love story through social media platforms, local law enforcement officials have revealed.

Sources said that the two had completed all the necessary legal processes to make their marriage official. Both individuals took the oath before a magistrate and the marriage was registered in court.

The lady reportedly entered Pakistan a week ago as she landed in Islamabad, where the boy’s family members were present to receive her. She spent some days in the capital before going to Timergara in Lower Dir where she stayed in a local hotel.

It is pertinent to mention here that the newly-married couple has chosen a low profile wedding. They got their marriage legalized in Timergara rather than performing their wedding ceremony in their native area, Dir.

After the court proceedings, the couple has decided to lodge at a hotel in the nearby vicinity. It should be mentioned that not even the closest of relatives were invited by the couple since they wanted to keep the ceremony personal.

It is further important to mention that according to the police, the couple told the court that their first interaction took place through social media and that this eventually culminated in marriage.

The officials further stated that after spending a few days here, the couple would return to Islamabad where they would be staying for some time.
