PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has decided to hold a large public rally in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within the next ten days, following the postponement of its April 9 gathering in Rawalpindi on the directives of party founder Imran Khan.

The decision was announced by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi during a press conference in Peshawar, where he said that the party leadership had been instructed to organize a “grand public gathering” across the province.

Sohail Afridi stated that the earlier postponement of the Rawalpindi rally was made in the national interest, citing the sensitive situation arising from ongoing diplomatic engagements between the United States and Iran in Islamabad. He added that the move reflected the party’s “responsibility and commitment to peace and stability”.

According to the chief minister, all senior leaders and party workers will participate in the upcoming rally, which is expected to serve as a significant demonstration of public support for PTI in the province. Preparations for the event have already begun, while the final date and venue are yet to be announced.

Party leaders described the planned gathering as a major political event, anticipating a strong turnout from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Meanwhile, some members of the public have expressed frustration over repeated political rallies, urging authorities to focus on pressing issues such as employment opportunities, education, peace, and development initiatives in the province.
