ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry on Monday said the latest medical report of Pakistan Tahreek-i-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan had declared his health satisfactory, adding that the development may have disappointed his political opponents.

Speaking informally to reporters at Parliament House, Talal Chaudhry said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) had already changed its opposition leader and even replaced a chief minister, but now had little left politically beyond what he described as a victim card.

He maintained that decisions regarding where an under-treatment individual should be kept, what medicines should be administered and what course of treatment should be followed rested solely with medical professionals. Neither the patient himself, nor his lawyer, nor his party could make final decisions in this regard, he added.

The minister of state further said reports concerning the PTI founder’s eyesight were also encouraging, claiming that such vision was uncommon even after four decades.

He asserted that the matter was being overseen by the Supreme Court of Pakistan as well as senior doctors, leaving no room for doubt.

Responding to a question about motorway closures, Talal Chaudhry said the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should explain why the public was being subjected to inconvenience.
