SHANGLA: Three police personnel of the elite force were martyred and two terrorists killed in a counter terrorism department (CTD) operation against terrorists in Kablgram area of Shangla.
According to the Police sources an intense exchange of fire erupted between police and militants in the Kabulgram area of Shangla resulting in the martyrdom of three policemen while two terrorists were killed.
Officials confirmed that three policemen embraced martyrdom in the line of duty, while two terrorists were killed in the retaliatory fire by the police. The exchange of fire reportedly continued in parts of the area as security forces cordoned off the surroundings to eliminate any remaining threats.
The clash began when armed militants opened fire on a police party during an operation in the area. The police retaliated promptly, leading to a fierce gun battle that continued for a considerable time.
