WhatsApp lets users search old chat messages with a single click

Searching for messages sent months or even years ago on WhatsApp could soon become easier, as the messaging platform is testing a new search shortcut feature.

According to a report, WhatsApp is working on a shortcut that would allow users to search directly within a chat with a single click, reducing the need to scroll through long conversations.

The feature has reportedly been spotted in a new beta version of WhatsApp for iOS devices.

At present, users looking for a specific message within a chat have to leave the conversation and open the chat information screen. They then have to select the search option before entering the message or keyword they want to find.

While the existing method allows users to search through conversations, the additional steps can make the process less convenient, particularly when dealing with lengthy chats.

The new shortcut is expected to provide quicker access to the search function directly within conversations, making it easier to locate older messages.
