If WhatsApp Status videos seem too slow to watch, users may soon be able to view them at double speed. WhatsApp introduced new feature which now allowed to watch video status in 2x speed.
According to a report, WhatsApp is testing a new feature that will allow users to play Status videos at 2x speed.
To use the feature, users will simply need to press and hold anywhere on the right side of the screen while viewing a Status video. The video will then play at double speed.
Once the user lifts their finger, the playback speed will automatically return to normal. This means there will be no need to enable or disable any separate setting or switch.
The new feature has reportedly been spotted in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iOS devices.
Status videos can take considerable time to watch, particularly when multiple contacts have posted videos. The new speed control feature is intended to help users go through such content more quickly.
According to the report, the 2x playback option will work with all video Status updates. However, as the feature is currently available only in the beta version, it remains unclear when WhatsApp will roll it out to all users.
