Lahore traffic police have seized a motorcycle carrying 104 unpaid e-challans with outstanding fines totalling Rs197,200.
According to traffic authorities, a patrolling officer stopped the motorcycle rider for not wearing a helmet and checked the vehicle’s e-challan record.
The record showed that the rider had been issued 98 challans for riding without a helmet and five for violating lane discipline, while the remaining challan was related to another traffic violation.
The seizure comes days after traffic police stopped a vehicle at Thokar Niaz Baig with more than Rs100,000 in outstanding e-challan fines.
The vehicle had accumulated 54 e-challans, with the driver cited for violating traffic signals 32 times and lane markings 20 times.
According to police, the vehicle was released after the outstanding fines were paid.
