In the Indian city of Mumbai, 4 members of the same family died mysteriously and it is suspected that the deaths were due to food poisoning.

According to Indian media reports, 40-year-old Abdullah Abdul Qadir, his 35-year-old wife Nasreen, 16-year-old daughter Ayesha and 13-year-old daughter Zainab had returned home after eating biryani with their family on Saturday night.

Later, at around 1 am, they ate watermelon, after which everyone’s health deteriorated a few hours later. According to health experts, watermelon can cause food poisoning and even lead to serious health complications and death.

Health experts say that the high water and natural sugar content in watermelon makes it an environment where bacteria can grow rapidly in case of contamination. According to health experts, there have also been repeated reports that glucose water or sugar water is allegedly added to watermelon through injections to increase its sweetness or improve its appearance.

Health experts say that if the sweetness of contaminated watermelon is increased by such injections, it can further increase the growth of bacteria. According to health experts, this risk arises when harmful bacteria are present in the fruit. These bacteria can cause severe dehydration, systemic infection (sepsis), or complications affecting vital organs of the body, and such complications can be fatal if medical attention is not received in time.

Food poisoning associated with watermelon is not uncommon, it often results in diarrhea, vomiting, and stomach pain, and in severe cases, especially in children, it can even be fatal. According to health experts, it is also very important when the watermelon was eaten. Late-night fruits or heavy meals should be avoided, especially after 8 pm, because digestion slows down during sleep.
