Usman Mushtaq, an active member of the banned Joint Awami Action Committee and a close associate of Khawaja Mehran, has announced complete disassociation from the organization and separated himself from all its activities and ideologies.

Usman Mushtaq said in his statement that he had participated in the Rawalakot sit-in with Khawaja Mehran, but after observing the situation there, he realized that the organization had deviated from its initial demands and public rights agenda.

He said that initially the Awami Action Committee was raising its voice on public issues like flour, electricity and health cards, on the basis of which he supported it, but later it became clear that the organization’s current behavior and activities reflected another agenda rather than public rights.

He especially appealed to the youth not to be part of any kind of propaganda or provocation, to perceive the facts and to stay away from elements that try to mislead them.
