PESHAWAR: The third spell of monsoon rains is currently underway across the PESCO region, bringing widespread rainfall to several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The spokesperson said that rain is continuing intermittently in Peshawar, Swat, Khyber, Mardan, and Swabi circles. Due to heavy rain and strong winds, electricity supply from 79 feeders of PESCO has been temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure to prevent any loss of life or damage to infrastructure.
The spokesperson explained that 20 feeders are closed in Peshawar circle, 8 in Swat, 13 in Khyber, 20 in Mardan, and 5 in Swabi. The spokesperson added that electricity is being supplied normally on all remaining feeders and consumers are receiving uninterrupted power.
PESCO field teams are already on the ground and working to carry out repair and maintenance work. Officials expect that once the weather improves and technical faults are cleared, power to the affected feeders will be restored within a short time.
PESCO has urged citizens to stay away from power lines and electric poles during the rain and to immediately report any faults to the PESCO helpline so that repair teams can respond quickly.
