The federal cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the 27th Constitutional Amendment.
The cabinet will review the PPP’s proposals in the meeting, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar briefed the cabinet on the 27th Amendment, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan also briefed the cabinet.

The cabinet meeting was postponed yesterday due to deadlock, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for Azerbaijan on a two-day visit, entrusting the PPP, including communication with other political matters, to Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
After the PPP agreed to some of the clauses, the cabinet will consider the amendment draft today. If the cabinet approves it, the draft of the 27th constitutional amendment is likely to be presented in the Senate and the National Assembly.
It should be remembered that the federal cabinet meeting was postponed yesterday due to deadlock and differences on some issues. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for Azerbaijan on a two-day visit, entrusting other important matters including communication with the PPP to Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
The meeting was to consider the draft of the 27th Constitutional Amendment, but the decision was postponed due to lack of agreement on some provisions. After approval from the cabinet, the draft was to be presented in the Senate and the National Assembly.
Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has announced his support for the proposals related to Article 243, the Constitutional Court and the transfer of judges.
According to sources, Bilawal Bhutto has made it clear that the party is in favor of the proposals that have been presented for the transparency of the judiciary and improvement of the constitutional process.
