Sri Lanka has waived visa fees for 40 countries, including Pakistan, to boost the country’s tourism. Citizens of those countries can apply for Sri Lanka visa through the online portal.
According to the Sri Lankan Immigration Department, the visa fee for 40 countries, including Pakistan, has been waived, and those coming to Sri Lanka are asked to obtain a visa without paying the fee.
Citizens from 40 countries are now exempt from visa fees and can obtain visas without any charge. This list includes Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Turkey, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belarus, Belgium, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Nepal, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Russia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
Under a new scheme, citizens of these countries are eligible to apply for a free Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) to travel to Sri Lanka for up to 30 days. The Sri Lankan Immigration Department has stated that while no fees will be charged, citizens must still apply for and obtain an ETA before entering the country.
