Former Prime Minister and Senator Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has stated that the passing of Sheikh Idrees represents a profound loss for the entire Muslim Ummah. In a special interview with Pakhtun Digital, the Senator noted that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was deeply saddened upon hearing news of the martyrdom.
Senator Kakar said that the contributions and sacrifices of such figures leave a lasting impact on the nation and the wider community. During the interview, he shared his views on the current regional situation and the significance of the legacy left behind by Sheikh Idrees, noting the high level of respect and grief expressed by both the civil and military leadership.
He further said that Allah Almighty would bring those involved in the incident to their ultimate end, adding that a firm stand against such elements is inevitable. According to the former caretaker prime minister, the tragedy has served as an eye-opener for the public, further heightening the collective sense of responsibility.
He asserted that coordinated efforts across all provinces are essential to establish lasting peace and noted that steps will be taken at all levels to transform Pakistan into a cradle of stability.
The former prime minister clarified that his visit was intended solely to express sympathy with the bereaved family, rather than for political discourse. He noted that political discussions are inappropriate on such occasions and stressed that the responsibilities of state institutions remain clear.
Touching upon the stance of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, he remarked on the necessity of maintaining a strong and unequivocal position regarding terrorism and national security.
During the visit, it was also mentioned that Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir was deeply distressed upon hearing news of the incident, describing it as a significant loss for the nation.
The caretaker prime minister concluded by observing that the current situation and recent events have prompted a shift in regional thinking, suggesting that in the future, Muslim countries must move forward on a more dignified and stable path.
