PESHAWAR: In view of drone attacks and security threats in Peshawar, it has been decided to put security on high alert across the district and intensify search operations in suburban and sensitive areas.
In this regard, a meeting of senior police officers was held yesterday under the chairmanship of CCPO Peshawar Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed, in which the current security situation and possible threats were reviewed.
In the meeting, instructions were issued to further strengthen the security of all police stations, check posts, police lines and important places, while in view of threats of terrorism, all senior police officers were ordered to remain in the field. CCPO ordered all officers, DPO Khyber and SPs to directly monitor checking and security arrangements at blockades to maintain law and order.
It was also decided to intensify the search of hotels, inns and houses in Peshawar’s City, Cantt, Faqirabad and suburban areas. Instructions have been given for indiscriminate action against unregistered tenants and suspicious elements.
According to police officials, incidents of drone attacks on various police stations and check posts in Peshawar have increased in recent days, due to which instructions have been issued to make search operations more effective in sensitive and suburban areas.
