One police official was martyred and four others sustained injuries when a group of 15 to 20 militants belonging to the proscribed Fitna al-Hindustan (FAH) launched a late-night assault on the Dhadar police station on Friday, officials said.

Security sources confirmed that the exchange of fire resulted in the death of at least three to four attackers. While the militants managed to retreat under cover of darkness, one body and a weapon were recovered from the site.

The attack began late on April 24, targeting the police station located approximately 4km from the Dhadar Circuit House and 6km from Bolan Weir, the headquarters of the 152 Air Defence Battalion. Police personnel initially engaged the attackers within their available capacity before reinforcements arrived.

According to officials, two counter-terrorism teams, led by the commanding officer of the 152 Light Air Defence Regiment, reached the scene to mount a coordinated counter-offensive. The timely intervention forced the militants to flee the area.

search and sanitisation operation is currently underway in the area, with effective blockades established along possible escape routes.

Authorities are also monitoring nearby medical facilities to trace injured militants. Officials said coordination and rehearsals between security forces and police will continue to further improve response mechanisms, as such joint efforts have already shown positive results.
