QUETTA: Pakistani security forces foiled coordinated attacks on two Frontier Corps (FC) checkposts on the outskirts of Quetta, killing three militants, according to security sources.
The attacks targeted FC positions in the Spini Karez and Zarghoon Ghar areas, where, according to the sources, militants identified by Pakistani authorities as belonging to “Fitna al-Hindustan” and “Fitna al-Khawarij” launched a joint assault.
Security sources said FC personnel responded swiftly and effectively, forcing the attackers to retreat after an exchange of fire.
According to the sources, three militants were killed during the operation, while the remaining attackers managed to flee the area.
Intermittent firing was continuing in the area at the time of the report, with FC troops maintaining control of their positions, security sources added.
