PESHAWAR: The district administration has imposed Section 144 across Peshawar until August 15 to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of citizens during Independence Day celebrations.

According to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office, the restrictions prohibit aerial firing, one-wheeling, and the sale and purchase of toy guns, toy horns and fireworks.

The administration has urged residents to comply with the restrictions and celebrate Independence Day in a safe, peaceful and responsible manner.

Officials warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found violating the imposed restrictions.

11 Injured in Traffic Accident on DHA Northern Bypass Road in Peshawar

Meanwhile, at least 11 people, including men, women and children, were injured in a traffic accident on DHA Northern Bypass Road in Peshawar on Friday, Rescue 1122 said.

According to Rescue 1122, emergency teams responded promptly to the scene on the instructions of District Emergency Officer Iftikhar Khan and provided first aid to the injured.

The victims were later shifted by ambulance to Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) for further medical treatment.

Rescue officials said the operation was completed swiftly and professionally, ensuring the safe evacuation and transfer of all injured persons to the hospital.
