RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has introduced a mandatory Nusuk food voucher policy for Umrah pilgrims arriving from Pakistan and three other countries, a move that may increase the overall cost of Umrah packages.
According to media reports, the food voucher, which will have an estimated value of 20 Saudi Riyals per day, will become a part of the visa fees structure in the new policy.
The value of the voucher will be added to the cost of total visa fees, which in turn means that it will have an effect on the cost of Umrah packages. Travel agents in Pakistan and other countries have started reviewing their packages to suit the new policy.
The policy has been implemented by the Saudi officials to offer Umrah pilgrims organized food arrangements.
Industry experts have recommended that all Umrah pilgrims must make sure of getting details about their packages as well as their cost before booking their arrangements.
