The cameras installed at Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations in Peshawar have now been linked to the city’s Safe City surveillance system, a move aimed at improving public safety, strengthening security monitoring, and helping authorities respond more quickly to emergencies and other incidents.
The agreement was signed between the Peshawar Safe City Project and TransPeshawar at the Safe City Project headquarters, formally launching technical cooperation between the two organisations.
According to an official statement, the integration allows live camera feeds from BRT stations to be monitored through the Safe City system, expanding the city’s surveillance network and enhancing coordination between the two entities.
Officials said the partnership marks an important step towards creating a safer public transport environment by improving real-time monitoring and enabling faster action whenever needed.
The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system is one of Peshawar’s largest public transport networks, serving thousands of passengers every day. It operates through dedicated bus lanes and modern stations across the city, providing a faster and more reliable mode of travel.
The integration of its surveillance cameras with the Safe City Project is expected to further enhance passenger safety and strengthen overall security across the transport network.
