PESHAWAR: In view of the intense heat and heatwave, Rescue 1122 has established 30 heatwave camps in 10 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said Director General Rescue 1122 Shah Fahad.

‎According to DG Rescue 1122, initially, camps are active in Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Khyber, Mohmand, Swabi, Swat, Dera Ismail Khan, Mardan and Buner. So far, 142 affected people have been provided first aid in these camps.

‎He said that 69 medical personnel and 14 Rescue 1122 vehicles have been deployed in the heatwave camps, which are providing timely services to the citizens. Clean water, ORS [salt water], medicines and all first aid facilities are available in the campus.

‎DG rescue urged citizens to avoid intense sunlight, drink plenty of water and take special care of children, the elderly and the sick.

‎DG Rescue 1122 said that in case of heat stroke or any emergency, the rescue helpline 1122 should be contacted immediately.
