Provincial Information Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shafi Jan has issued a special message to the nation on the occasion of 10th Muharram-ul-Haram, Ashura Day.
In his message, the Minister of Information said that the incident of Karbala has taught us the practical lesson of unity, tolerance, patience and sacrifice of all kinds for the sake of truth. He said that the field of Karbala is not just a historical event but a source of guidance for the oppressed of all times.
Shafi Jan said that the biography of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) is a clear message to stand against oppression and always support the truth. He said that the main message of the incident of Karbala is that the principles of truth and justice cannot be compromised at any cost.
The Information Minister stressed the need to maintain peace and order across the province during the holy days of Muharram and said that inter-faith harmony should be promoted during Muharram. He appealed to the scholars, great sheikhs and the general public to play their full role in promoting peace, tolerance and brotherhood so that no one gets the opportunity to spread sectarian hatred.
Shafi Jan said that the sacrifices of the martyrs of Karbala are a beacon for the entire humanity. He said that the message of Karbala is steadfastness against injustice and unconditional support for the truth. According to the Minister of Information, the memory of the martyrs of Karbala gives us the courage to stand with justice and truth in every era.
He said that a strong and united society can be formed only through peace, tolerance and mutual respect. The provincial government has made full-proof security arrangements across the province on the occasion of Ashura Day so that mourners can perform their religious rituals in a peaceful environment.
