ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has decided against prolonged load-shedding in any area, directing its field staff to ensure uninterrupted power supply to consumers as far as possible.
According to a statement issued by IESCO, the decision was taken in compliance with directives from the federal government and the Ministry of Energy.
The company said that even in the event of a temporary gap between electricity demand and supply, load-shedding on any feeder in any area would not exceed two hours.
IESCO has directed relevant officials and field staff to closely monitor the power supply system and provide maximum possible relief to consumers.
The company said its complaint staff was fully deployed in the field to respond promptly to faults caused by rainfall and other weather conditions, as well as to address consumer complaints.
Relevant teams have also been mobilised to deal with individual complaints, transformer faults and other electricity-related issues, IESCO said.
The company urged consumers to promptly report electricity-related complaints to their respective IESCO complaint centres. Its 118 helpline is also available for registering complaints.
IESCO advised consumers to lodge formal complaints instead of contacting field staff directly in case of power faults or transformer-related issues, saying this would ensure that complaints were properly recorded and addressed in a timely manner.
