Crude oil prices in the international market have declined, raising the possibility of a reduction in petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan.
According to the latest market data, US crude oil prices fell 1.58 per cent to $100.30 per barrel.
Brent crude, the international benchmark, declined 0.91pc to $103.90 per barrel, while Murban crude prices dropped 2.86pc to $117.90 per barrel. Natural gas prices, meanwhile, rose 0.38pc to $2.912 per unit.
In Pakistan, the government has already reduced the price of petrol by Rs1.65 per litre and high-speed diesel by 88 paisa for the period from Sept 19 to 21, 2026.
Following the latest revision, petrol is being sold at Rs389.14 per litre, while high-speed diesel is priced at Rs424.04 per litre.
According to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra), petroleum prices are determined based on international petroleum product prices, premiums, freight charges and other relevant factors.
Under the current pricing mechanism, petroleum prices are calculated using a rolling average of seven business days.
