PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and adjoining areas over the next few days.

According to a weather advisory issued, rain-bearing weather system has developed over Bagram and surrounding regions, with several troughs expected to affect Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and nearby areas.

The PMD stated that intermittent rain, strong winds and thunderstorms are likely in Shangla, Bagram, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Buner and surrounding districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

In Kashmir, areas including Muzaffarabad, Neelum Valley, Rawalakot, Garhi Dupatta, Kotli, Mirpur, Bagh and nearby regions are expected to receive rainfall during the forecast period.

The weather department also predicted rain and thunderstorms in parts of Punjab, including Murree, Galliyat, Narowal, Sialkot, Jhelum, Mankiala and surrounding areas. Isolated locations may experience heavy rainfall.

Authorities have advised residents and tourists to take precautionary measures, stay updated on weather developments and avoid unnecessary travel in vulnerable areas during periods of severe weather.

The PMD urged the public to remain vigilant and follow official advisories to ensure safety during the expected spell of unsettled weather.
