The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced the introduction of a visa-on-arrival facility for citizens of certain countries.
According to Arab media reports, the UAE will introduce a visa-on-arrival facility for eligible Filipino passport holders starting tomorrow (June 25, 2026), according to the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs.
Under the facility, citizens traveling on Philippine passports may be eligible to obtain a visa on arrival, provided that they have a valid visa, residence permit, or green card issued by the United States, European Union member states, Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Canada, or New Zealand.
This rule only applies to travelers who have one of these approved documents at the time of entry.
Eligible travelers must present their valid visa or residence permit along with their Philippine passport upon arrival in the UAE.
Thereafter, immigration authorities will issue a visa on arrival after routine checks and approval.
Under the new system, travelers will have two options. The first option is a 14-day visa that will be issued for 100 dirhams and can be extended for another 14 days at an additional cost of 250 dirhams.
The second option is a 60-day visa that will be available for 250 dirhams, but it cannot be extended under any circumstances.
The recent development is supported by the deep economic cooperation between the two countries and the large number of Filipino citizens in the UAE.
The Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs said that the UAE has granted visa-on-arrival facilities to Filipino citizens in view of the excellent bilateral relations between the Philippines and the UAE.
