ISLAMABAD: Cloudy and humid weather is expected to prevail in the federal capital on Tuesday, with daytime temperatures likely to range between 36°C and 38°C. Skies will remain mostly cloudy, making conditions uncomfortable during the afternoon.

While most of the day is expected to stay dry, there is a possibility of isolated rain accompanied by gusty winds and thunderstorms in surrounding areas during the evening or night if moisture increases.

Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and exercise caution during any thunderstorm activity, particularly motorists traveling on highways and hilly roads.

Cloudy weather is expected across most districts of the province on Tuesday. However, weather conditions will be different in the northern and upper parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where isolated rain, gusty winds, and thunderstorms are likely.

Districts including Chitral, Upper and Lower Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Battagram, and adjoining mountainous areas may receive scattered showers during the afternoon or evening. Localized heavy rainfall cannot be ruled out in a few places, which may temporarily reduce visibility and create slippery road conditions in mountainous regions.

In contrast, Peshawar, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and other southern districts are expected to remain mainly hot and humid, with little chance of significant rainfall.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, moist monsoon currents continue to influence the country’s northern regions, increasing the likelihood of isolated thunderstorms over upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Residents living near streams, nullahs, and mountainous areas should remain alert, as brief heavy downpours may trigger localized flash flooding or landslides. Travelers heading towards northern tourist destinations are advised to stay updated on the latest weather conditions before departure.
