PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Additional Secretary Information Arbab Khizar Hayat Khan has urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to immediately impose governor’s rule in the province, citing the deteriorating law and order situation.

In a letter addressed to the prime minister, Arbab Khizar Hayat Khan said the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had become extremely concerning, leaving citizens facing fear, uncertainty and psychological distress amid recurring incidents of terrorism.

He claimed that security personnel, police officers and civilians were being targeted on a daily basis, while accusing the provincial government of failing to ensure the safety of citizens and maintain law and order.

The PML-N leader further claimed that the state’s writ had been severely weakened in several districts of the province and that militants were openly challenging the state.

He urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to exercise his constitutional and legal powers and impose governor’s rule before the situation deteriorated further.

According to the letter, such a step would help restore law and order and ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
