PISHIN: Frontier Corps (FC) North, police and district administration have conducted a major operation in Pishin, demolishing a suspected drug manufacturing facility and destroying a large quantity of ephedrine worth more than Rs 268.8 million, officials said.

The operation was carried out following a tip-off in Station Colony, Yaro, where teams from FC North, police and Quetta Scouts raided a facility allegedly used to manufacture dangerous drugs, including ice and shisha.

During the operation, authorities recovered 33,600 kilograms of ephedrine, locally referred to as “aman.” Officials estimated its value in the international market at more than Rs268.8 million.

The recovered material was set on fire and destroyed at the site in the presence of police and district administration officials.

Authorities also demolished the entire factory building using an excavator to prevent the facility from being used for drug production again.

The administration said indiscriminate operations against drug-related activities would continue as part of efforts to rid the area of the menace of narcotics.
