Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Housing Minister Dr Amjad Ali allegedly orchestrated an incident at his own residence in Swat to avoid participating in the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) long march, according to sources.
Sources said PTI leadership had assigned Amjad Ali the responsibility of mobilising participants from his constituency for the party’s protest march. However, he allegedly failed to meet the leadership’s expectations.
According to the sources, the minister subsequently arranged an operation at his own residence through his associates in an attempt to deflect questions from the party leadership over his failure to mobilise participants. The alleged incident reportedly involved vandalism and gunfire.
The sources further claimed that after the alleged vandalism and firing, Amjad Ali fled the scene, leaving the party leadership under the impression that an operation had taken place against him.
Further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident are awaited.
