ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Tuesday issued new prices for petroleum products and increasing petrol by Rs4.93 per litre, taking the new price to Rs320.73 per litre while high-speed diesel (HSD) has been hiked by Rs7.15 per litre, with the new retail price fixed at Rs367.21 per litre.
This new prices raised for July 22, 2026, said a notification issued here late on Tuesday. The latest hike is expected to push up transportation costs, freight charges, and the prices of essential goods, adding further pressure on households already struggling with rising living expenses.
The revised petroleum prices have come into effect following the issuance of the official OGRA notification and will remain applicable until the next government review, unless revised earlier.
Meanwhile, All Pakistan Petrol Pumps Owners Association (APPPOA) has announced a nationwide strike from Wednesday night after negotiations with the government over daily petroleum pricing failed.
Speaking to the media after a meeting with the government’s team, led by Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, APPPOA representatives said their hour-long talks over the daily fuel pricing mechanism had “failed” to reach an agreement and that they were therefore left with no option but to go on an indefinite strike, as it was an issue of survival for them.
