PESHAWAR: Authorities in Peshawar have decided to intensify surveillance of private hostels across the city in view of prevailing security concerns, with police directed to obtain updated details of hostel residents on a daily basis.
According to police sources, special instructions have been issued to police officials and hostel administrations to maintain and share complete and up-to-date records of all individuals residing in private hostels within their respective jurisdictions.
The data will include students, employees of public and private institutions, and other residents staying at hostels in different parts of the city. Hostel administrations have been directed to ensure that records of residents are regularly updated and provided to the relevant authorities.
Sources said the enhanced monitoring aims to strengthen security arrangements and ensure timely access to information about individuals entering or residing in hostels.
Special instructions have also been issued regarding Afghan migrants residing in hostels. Their personal details and information concerning their legal residency status will also be collected as part of the monitoring process.
