A grand ceremony was held in Jamrud tehsil of Khyber District on August 14 to mark Pakistan’s Independence Day.
District administration officials, tribal elders and residents attended the event. The national flag was hoisted during the ceremony and a cake-cutting ceremony held to celebrate Independence Day. Special prayers were also offered for the security, stability and prosperity of the country and the nation.
After the ceremony, participants held an enthusiastic foot march to the historic Bab-e-Khyber. Slogans were raised in support of Pakistan and the Pakistan Armed Forces. Participants expressed their love and commitment to the homeland while celebrating Independence Day.
Officials present at the event included Assistant Commissioner Jamrud Salman Hastam, Additional Assistant Commissioner Syed Naseemullah Shah, Tehsildar Jamrud Syed Asif Shah, TMO Jamrud Gul Wali Khan, and Encroachment Officer Umair Altaf.
Tribal elders including Malik Israr, Malik Salahuddin, Chairman Masoor Khan, Malik Zarab, Malik Najeeb, Malik Naseeb, Malik Adil, Haji Barak, Malik Zewarjan, Malik Nazeer, Malik Mubeen, Malik Fazal-ur-Rehman, Malik Hazrat Wali, Malik Khalid Akbar, and Malik Syed Kabeer also attended. Media representatives Shahzad and Izzat Gul were also present. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to continue playing their role for the country’s development, peace and prosperity.
